Shawn Beasley claims two track championships, preps for final events of 2008 race season
Shawn Beasley is busy preparing for the final race events of the 2008 season after storming his way to two track championships! Shawn followed his championship run at Dublin Motor Speedway in Dublin, N.C. with a second points title at Hammerdown Speedway in Red Springs, N.C. The dual championship comes with an $8,000 bonus provided by both tracks.
Recent events included the first ever World of Outlaws Late Model Series visit to Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, N.C. After a qualifying time that secured an A-Main starting position on the outside of row 3, rain fell which forced the remainder of the event to be completed on October 7th. When the action resumed, Shawn was having an outstanding run until getting spun out on a restart by eventual winner Josh Richards. "I was really disappointed that he raced me like that, especially that early in the race" commented Shawn when asked about the event. "We had a really good car for that race and I thought we were going to have a good night and finish. I was on a harder tire than all the guys up front and I was really just taking it easy until about halfway. Clanton, Francis and Lanigan all were looking at my tires during introduction on the front straight away and said if I was good early we would be real good late, so I think i might have had a good shot at a top 2 or 3 finish."
Shawn started the 2008 season early in the winter by traveling south to Golden Isles Speedway in Georgia for the Superbowl of Racing. Since that time, the "Raeford Rocket" has hit the track over 40 times! Highlights include 13 feature event victories and 30 top 10 finishes.
Come out and show your support for Shawn and the 25 team as they battle for victory on November 29, 2008 at Dublin Motor Speedway's "Thanksgiving Special". The event features a $10,000 to win Super Late Model feature along with several other classes of exciting racing. It's an event you do not want to miss! Details can be found at www.dublinspeedway.com.

The Raeford Rocket takes off!
(Raeford, NC) - Shawn Beasley, known as the "Raeford Rocket" by race fans, set flight the weekend of August 7, 2008 on a mission to win four races in two nights, in two different divisions, at two different tracks. If not for a bit of bad timing, he could have accomplished that mission.
Shawn and the 25 team invaded Dublin Motor Speedway in Dublin, NC on August 7th for a $1,500 to win Super Late Model feature. While there, Shawn took the wheel of the Coxe Motorsports 43 Open Wheel Modified car. After finishing second in this class just a couple of weeks ago, Shawn was able to bring the 43 car and Coxe Motorsports to victory lane. On the same night, Shawn was able to accomplish half of his weekend long mission by taking the checkers in the Super Late Model division.
The team had their work cut out for them on Saturday night, August 8th. The goal? Compete in the Super Late Model division at two tracks simultaneously. Hammerdown Speedway in Red Springs, NC and Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, NC run on different schedules, with Hammerdown's program starting earlier in the evening. The plan was to qualify at Hammerdown, travel to qualify at Fayetteville, return to Hammerdown for the feature, then end the night with the feature at Fayetteville. It was a valiant effort, but due to timing, the team had driver Jeffrey Tyndall fill in for qualifying duties at Fayetteville. Shawn went on to win the feature at Hammerdown. Due to his absence in qualifying at Fayetteville, he was forced to start at the rear and ended the night with a 10th place finish. All things considered, winning three out of four races is something the team considers to be a major accomplishment.
Next up for Shawn and Beasley Motorsports will be the World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Model series. The series will make an appearance on Friday, August 15h at Fayetteville Motor Speedway for a $10,000 feature event. Shawn will be battling with the nation's best in one of the area's premiere events for the 2008 racing season. While looking forward to running with the WoO regulars, it could be an expensive proposition. The event will run under an open tire rule which translates to additional expenses for many teams.
Quick stats: 3 wins in a row at Hammerdown Speedway. 11 Super Late Model victories. The team picked up an additional $1000 bonus for winning back to back at Dublin and Hammerdown the weekend of August 7th.

Another victory at Hammerdown Speedway!
The Raeford Rocket continued his winning ways at Hammerdown Speedway in Red Springs, NC, on Saturday night, July 26th 2008, after a top 5 run the night before at Dublin Motor Speedway. The win at Hammerdown was his second in a row at the Mighty Bullring and came with a $200 Hoosier tire bonus.
Shawn unveiled a slightly new look for the #25 car as he readies for one of the area's biggest events of the 2008 season: a $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Models Series on August 15th!
